The People Operations Manager, reporting to the General Manager People Operations, will lead the strategic and day-to-day management of the people administration and compliance function within The Star Sydney’s People team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a compliance leader to drive process improvement and ensure appropriate controls are in place across people & culture activities. You’ll join a supportive leadership team, and have access to experts across legal, risk, compliance, and operations.

A few of your responsibilities  

  • Drive continuous improvement of people processes and systems
  • Ensure accurate, timely employee transactions with strong governance and confidentiality
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models to deliver actionable insights
  • Audit and analyse workforce metrics (e.g. turnover, engagement, headcount, diversity)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
  • Lead The Star Sydney’s people administration and compliance team to ensure effective service delivery and support

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in compliance, business, or HR
  • 10+ years’ experience in compliance, risk, controls, or HR (including 5+ years in senior roles)
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Strong skills in relationship-building, coaching, influencing, and communication

You’re passionate about data-driven decision-making, with a proven ability to develop dashboards, reports, and workforce analytics that deliver meaningful insights. You lead with integrity, ensuring governance, confidentiality, and compliance are upheld across all people processes.
