We have a rare opportunity for an aspiring Apprentice Chef to join our mining accommodation village at Reedy Creek, located near Miles, Queensland. This once in a lifetime opportunity would allow you to firstly commence as a Kitchen Hand for 3 months and then after this would give you the ability to earn while you learn whilst working towards gaining your Cert III in Commercial Cookery. In this role you would be supported by some of our best Culinary Leaders, all whilst working with a global leader in catering & support services.

The successful candidate will work a 14:7 roster, performing 10 hour days. Flights ex Brisbane, accommodation and meals provided.

The Person

• We would expect you to have a genuine interest in all things culinary and be a real “foodie”!
• You will have hospitality experience, preferably in a fast-paced, bulk style cooking environment
• You are prepared to learn the ropes as a Kitchen Hand for the first 3 x months prior
• You can work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• You are reliable, hardworking, resilient and can follow instructions
• You have the capacity & willingness to commit to additional study outside of work hours

The Position

• You will be trained and mentored by an exceptional team of highly qualified Chefs who have developed their passion for food all over the world
• You will be exposed to cooking in Production Kitchens, learning the skills and techniques to deliver high quality food across a variety of styles of cuisine
• You will work to obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
