Legal Counsel

The Role
We are currently seeking the expertise of an In-House Legal Counsel to join an experienced and collaborative small in-house legal team, advising on a wide range of commercial legal issues across our Australian and New Zealand businesses. You will manage, negotiate, and draft a full suite of contracts and commercial agreements, advise on regulatory issues and governance risks, and assist with other legal issues related to supply chain including modern slavery as well as privacy, intellectual property, data protection and ethics.
Collaborating with key stakeholders across all levels of the business with new and existing legislation, analysis, support and a strong compliance framework that is embedded with guidance and training. Be the influential and trusted advisor as we continue to grow rapidly in this dynamic environment.
The Person
In this high business facing role you will be required to have:
- A current Australian Legal Practicing Certificate
- 7+ years' post-qualification experience
- Solid stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience as a commercial lawyer from a leading tier firm or generalist in-house.
- Experience in the contract services industry or with technology contracts will be looked upon favourably
- Experienced in drawing and adapting strategic insight from market and internal data
- Be a collaborative and strong team player
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (including services contracts, leases, and subcontracts) with appreciation of indemnity and insurance risks
- A confident, persuasive, and friendly communication style
- Enjoyment working in a fast-paced and commercially minded environment
