Commercial Accountant

The Position:

Join our team and provide essential commercial support as outlined in the Chevron contract. You will assist with month-end processes, management reporting, and ensure contractual compliance through detailed reviews and financial analysis. This role is crucial for delivering accurate reporting and driving business success. You'll also play a vital role in promoting our Safety Culture framework.  Be part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in commercial operations!

The Role:

  • Manage invoicing, approvals, and reconciliations, ensuring invoices are accurate and fully compliant with contract agreements
  • Oversee accurate month-end closing processes, assist in P&L preparation, prepare monthly reports, ensure journal entry integrity, and conduct stock take reconciliation
  • Conduct regular management reporting and analysis, including preparation of QRM packs and tracking costs as per contract requirements
  • Liaise with and support Internal and External stakeholders
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting by developing revenue, expenditure, and capital investment plans, and collaborating with the Commercial accountant business partner to finalise budgets and financial plans
  • Identifying and communicate opportunities for improvement & process streamlining 
  • Support the Commercial team in developing business cases for retention and bid modelling
  • Assist in preparing Contract Price Escalations to ensure contract compliance
  • Client reporting and billing
  • Review project financial performance against contracts and propose solutions to enhance project outcomes
  • Adhere to health, safety and security procedures
  • Preparation of detailed Budgets and Forecasts
  • Contract Compliance

The Person:

  • Accounting/Finance degree  (ideally CA/CPA qualified)
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience within a business environment
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritise and multi-task
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude, who can work autonomously in a team environment
  • Dedicated, passionate and committed to progressing the performance of the portfolio
