We are currently expanding our leadership team and recruiting a Risk Manager work collaboratively across all Australian sites with the broader safety and business teams in supporting the delivery of the Organisations Risk, Assurance and Safety strategy with the Compass Group Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) and Risk Management Systems.
THE ROLE
The role provides subject matter expert technical advice and support, while managing and leading the strategic design, development, and implementation of risk management, processes, and initiatives across COMPASS GROUP. The role is critical in leading improvement in risk and safety culture characterised by care and respect and accountability for performance. The role, in partnership with line leaders and business partners is instrumental in engaging and connecting every employee to our risk and safety systems and values.
Main responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team, operational management, and other support services teams to deliver our company Process and Risk Safety Strategy, including developing, maintaining and reporting on risk bow ties, business continuity and at times project and change management plans
- Develop and lead the delivery from inception to implementation of our company risk process and audits assuring alignment with safety strategy and performance measures
- Lead and coach operational management in and risk management processes, audit processes
- Design, develop, implement and drive enhancement strategies to support processes required in order to meet internal and external risk, assurance and at times safety obligations
- Lead the ongoing development, coordination, and oversight of the Internal Audit function
- Lead ongoing assurance and delivery of audits, establishing and maintaining procedures across the business that are closely aligned with the company’s systems including regulatory review, implementation of reporting and recording and solutions including but not limited to psycho-social management, compass clip and verification of competency compliance deployment or other key safety projects.
- Lead the implementation of the 'Three Lines of Defence Model' across our organisation
- Develop strong and effective relationships across the organisation, building stakeholder risk and assurance management capabilities as the foundation to creating a robust and positive risk culture
- Develop and embed systems and processes to provide efficient, effective, and integrated risk management and assurance practices across the organisation, supporting timely and quality risk reporting to senior management and Leadership team
- Facilitate control self-assessment process and align the outcomes to the regional and functional risk registers through the involvement of key stakeholders of business processes
- Perform follow up procedures on internal audit findings and report on the status of resolutions
ABOUT YOU
- 5 to 10 years' experience in risk management
- Ability to self-manage work and travel independently
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in a relevant field
- Detailed understanding of audit process and audit risk assessment
- Ability to analyse business processes and re-engineer to be most effective
- Ability to challenge current process flow diagrams and provide optimum solution for processes
- Capacity to engage with management and demonstrate knowledge regarding key business processes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence across all tiers of the organisation
