THE POSITION
- Source and procure approved materials appropriate for each project.
- Ensure refrigeration workers are qualified and competent.
- Confirm availability of necessary tools, equipment, and test apparatus.
- Maintain auditable records of all test results and procedures.
- Submit required documentation to statutory authorities promptly.
- Ensure safe systems of work are in place before commencement.
- Complete and acknowledge training in regional refrigeration nominee responsibilities.
- Clearly communicate compliance roles and responsibilities to relevant personnel.
- Attend all mandatory committee meetings.
- Review and validate test results and associated documentation.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship across all refrigeration tasks.
- Assist in resolving technical and compliance-related issues.
- Relay accurate information from regulator interactions and relevant meetings.
- Share outcomes and minutes from Electrical Safety Sub-Committee meetings with the appropriate team members.
- Ensure all refrigeration work is compliant with applicable Australian regulations.
- Keep current with federal and state legislation relevant to refrigeration systems.
THE PERSON
- Ensure all refrigeration equipment is calibrated within the required 12-month timeframe.
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and testing of refrigeration systems and plant to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee all work related to refrigeration plant and installations to ensure adequate supervision and safety.
- Ensure refrigeration plant and installations are installed and tested according to relevant legislation and maintained in safe working condition.
- Immediately stop the use of any refrigeration plant or installation deemed unsafe.
- Report any situation that may compromise the safe use of refrigerant gases or electricity, or that contravenes legislation or company standards.
- Investigate and report incidents, including:
- Dangerous occurrences related to refrigeration or HVAC installations.
- Any incident involving refrigerant gas that could have caused injury.
- Any gas release requiring notification to the Australian Refrigeration Council.
- Maintain up-to-date records of refrigeration repairs and maintenance for audit purposes.
- Unrestricted ARCTICK Licence
- Electrical Licence (or working towards)
- Full C Class Drivers Licence, White Card
- CPR + LVR & Police Check within 12 months
- Pass a Pre-Employment Medical including Drug & Alcohol Screening
- Team player and able to work autonomously
