We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Commercial Accountant (BHP Team). In this role, you’ll work across departments to help drive business success and improve financial performance.

The Position
In this role, you’ll support our BHP Commercial team by managing Profit & Loss statements, ensuring accurate month-end reports, and providing client billing and reports. It also includes balance sheet reconciliations, site audits, budgeting and forecasts. The position ensures contract compliance, support to stakeholders, and process improvement and efficiency. Additionally, it offers the chance to work on innovative projects.
Main responsibilities:
- Delivering efficient commercial support to respective portfolio sectors
- Deliver timely and accurate month end close including thorough and accurate variance analysis.
- Assisting internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure Contract compliance including preparation of rise and falls and timely collections
- Timely and accurate preparation of all budgeting and forecasting requirements, including gaining agreement from relevant Area Managers.
- Assisting with retention and bid modelling
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Administration of invoicing, receipt and approval processes
The Person
You're a driven, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your toolkit includes:
- Degree qualified and/or studying towards CA/CPA
- Minimum 2 years previous experience within a commercial accounting environment
- Sound technical and analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously within a team environment
Desirable
- Experience in ORACLE accounting system and/or financial model and commercial review
Please note: This role will be based in our Perth office - 12 Newcastle Street, Perth WA 6000.
