We are currently seeking to appoint a casual Helpdesk Operator at our hospital site located in Waratah, Newcastle. Reporting to the Helpdesk Manager this position requires an organised and professional individual who has the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills and intermediate to advanced computer skills. The Helpdesk operates twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week therefore the successful applicant will require availability to work morning shift (6am-2.30pm), afternoon shift (2.20pm–10:20pm) and night shift (10.10pm–6.10am) as per the roster. 

The Position

  • Provide a professional, supportive and timely response to a high volume of internal calls, emails and direct requests
  • Apply sound problem solving skills whilst adhering to established standards and procedures
  • Efficient and accurate real time data entry
  • Operation and monitoring of Quality Facility Management and Building Maintenance systems
  • Professional and timely communication with key stakeholders i.e. internal and external services
  • Ensure excellent levels of customer services at all times
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise, and complete within required time frames
  • Administrative duties

The Person

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office Suite particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy of real time data
  • Experience working in a fast paced, regulated environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also independently
  • Interest in working in a healthcare facility
  • Ability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
