Bring your passion for food and quality and utilise your skills embracing a unique environment as a Head Chef at HMAS Harman (Canberra). Join the team and receive full training and support while working with a dynamic and fun team.

The Position:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, with limited weekend and night shifts
  • A hands-on role for an organised and experienced Head Chef, leading your team to deliver exceptional daily meals and events
  • Oversee catering and stock controls, ensuring OH&S and HACCP compliance with a strong focus on waste reduction
  • Manage food forecasting, ordering, and stock control processes
  • Champion food safety and quality, with attention to allergens and dietary requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (minimum)
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef in high-volume or structured environments
  • Confident leader with experience in training, development, and team engagement
  • Expert knowledge of HACCP, allergen protocols, and food safety practices
  • Strong organisational skills, able to work independently, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure
