We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our boarding community. The successful candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a positive, professional approach to supporting our students and staff. This role offers a balanced work schedule, with your evenings free, allowing for a healthy work–life balance, while contributing to the smooth running of our boarding facilities.

Chartwells are specialists in providing catering and hospitality services in education. Our goal is to provide engaging and nutritious dining solutions tailored to support academic achievement at the highest levels.

The Position

• Assist with serving, keeping the dining area and kitchen clean, washing dishes, and supporting overall kitchen operation
• Provide friendly customer service
• Fast paced environment
• Operate the till to take orders and process transactions
• Collaborating effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhering to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices.

The Person

• Experience with customer service and basic food handling experience is desired
• Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
• Have strong organisational skills
• Excels in high-pressure environments
• Thrives in collaborative, small-team settings
• Possesses hands on experience with POS systems
• Friendly, customer-oriented attitude
• Being flexible to handle diverse tasks, from food prep to cleaning based on the needs at that time.
