We are seeking a highly influential Head of Safety Operations to lead safety performance across a complex, national, multi-geographic environment. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for translating enterprise safety strategy into practical, on-the-ground execution, ensuring all risks (especially critical risks) are effectively managed and a high-performance safety culture is embedded across operations.

Partnering closely with executive and operational leaders, you will drive consistency, capability and accountability in safety outcomes. You’ll play a key role in shaping leadership behaviours, uplifting safety awareness, building and constantly reviewing safety practices and ensuring it is integrated into every stage of service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and drive safety performance across national operations
  • Partner with operational leaders to embed safety into planning, mobilisation and service delivery
  • Support the National GM of HSE with reporting
  • Lead complex incident investigations and embed learnings across the business
  • Coach and uplift leadership capability to own safety outcomes at every level
  • Translate safety strategy into practical, site-level actions
  • Drive consistency of safety standards across diverse operational environments
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and performance improvement
  • Lead, develop and align a high-performing HSE team
  • Strengthen safety culture through visible leadership and proactive engagement in the field

What You’ll Bring (Skills & Experience)

  • 10+ years’ experience in HSE leadership across volume, national operations
  • Degree in Safety, Environment, Engineering or related field
  • Proven track record driving safety performance across diverse operations
  • Strong ability to influence and partner with senior and executive stakeholders
  • Experience leading culture transformation and change at scale
  • Deep knowledge of legislation, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and resilience
