ESS Defence provides food service and hospitality support to Defence sites across Australia. We deliver high quality meals that support the wellbeing of Australian Defence Force personnel.
Are you a passionate Chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and enjoys creating exceptional food experiences?
We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at RAAF Williamtown. This role is ideal for chefs who enjoy bulk cooking, consistent service delivery and working in a structured and supportive environment.
As this is a 7-day operation, all meal services require coverage and roster patterns reflect operational requirements. Training will be provided across all service areas, and successful candidates will need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare high-quality buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner and functions
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Support stock control, inventory and kitchen organisation
• Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and service
• Work both autonomously and as part of a professional kitchen team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Experience in commercial kitchens with bulk cooking and à la carte service
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and allergen management
• Strong attention to detail and organisation
• Reliable, team-focused and safety-conscious
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
ROSTER & HOURS
• Full-time stable employment
• No split shifts
• 5 days on, 2 days off roster
• Hours of operation: 5:30am – 7:30pm Monday to Friday
• Hours of operation: 7:00am – 7:30pm weekends and public holidays
• Rosters will include weekday, weekend and public holiday coverage as required by operational needs
