Ever wondered how data and intelligent systems power smarter decisions at scale?

Join our Trading and Data team where your work will directly influence how we optimise experiences, improve performance, and drive real business impact. Whether you thrive on building predictive models or engineering the systems that bring them to life, this is your chance to apply advanced data science and machine learning engineering in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where innovation is encouraged, and ideas turn into production.

Your role in Action

As a Data Scientist within our Trading and Data team, you will play a key role in shaping how we use data and intelligent systems to make smarter decisions. Reporting into a senior leader, you will lead end-to-end machine learning initiatives — from experimentation through to production — delivering models and systems that directly influence customer experience and measurable business impact.

  • Lead end-to-end machine learning projects from problem framing through to production deployment and monitoring
  • Build, optimise, and maintain machine learning models solving complex business problems involving customer propensity, lifetime value, and behavioural segmentation
  • Design and implement scalable ML pipelines, feature stores, and model serving infrastructure
  • Translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into production systems with reliability and performance in mind
  • Drive experimentation, statistical analysis, and A/B testing to improve outcomes
  • Champion MLOps best practices including model versioning, monitoring, retraining, and CI/CD for ML
  • Mentor peers and contribute to best practice across data science and ML engineering ways of working

What you'll need to succeed

You're an experienced practitioner who operates across the spectrum of data science and ML engineering. You might lean more toward modelling or more toward systems — either way, you understand how to turn data into real outcomes that run reliably at scale. You bring strong technical capability, commercial thinking, and the confidence to influence and collaborate across teams.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for analysis, modelling, and pipeline development
  • Hands-on with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost
  • Experience with cloud platforms and ML tooling such as AWS, Databricks, MLflow, or similar
  • Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation, and data-driven decision making
  • Proven capability deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments
  • Experience building or contributing to ML infrastructure — pipelines, feature engineering, model serving, or monitoring
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices: version control, testing, CI/CD, containerisation
  • Ability to translate complex problems into practical, scalable solutions — whether that's a model, a system, or both
  • Background in a high-frequency, high-volume decision domain a bonus
