About the role:
Working between Perth HQ and Perth Airport office, we are seeking a highly motivated, front-line leader to join our team in Perth as Leader - Crew Performance. This dynamic role focuses on engaging and managing our Cabin Crew workforce, fostering strong relationships, and driving performance outcomes in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You will play a vital role in supporting a large, remote workforce, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional service.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Crew Engagement: Build meaningful connections with Cabin Crew to enhance morale and foster a positive team culture.
  • Performance Management: Oversee crew performance, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance while addressing issues as they arise.
  • Support Crew Wellbeing: Act as the first point of contact for crew grievances, managing issues sensitively and effectively in line with company policies and EBA processes.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage personal and sick leave balances, ensuring adequate crew levels to meet operational requirements.
  • Recruitment Pipeline: Collaborate with manpower planning to ensure a steady stream of skilled and qualified Cabin Crew to support current needs and future growth.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, are resilient, and excel at building relationships with diverse teams. With strong leadership and people management skills, you know how to inspire others, manage challenges, and achieve results.

  • You will be hands-on and someone who loves working with people is highly organised, and has customer service at heart.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, remote teams in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment.
  • Formal HR qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience, ensuring you can handle all aspects of team management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks and operational compliance standards (desirable).
  • Skilled in contemporary IR/ER management with hands-on experience navigating the Fair Work framework, ideally in aviation.
  • Strong expertise in EBA/union negotiations and working within unionised environments.
  • Exceptional ability to foster engagement, drive a team culture, and inspire high performance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and relate to team members across all levels.
  • Proven capability to leverage data for actionable insights and drive business outcomes.
  • A meticulous approach to quality and operational standards, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
  • Thrive in high-pressure environments while maintaining focus, composure, and clarity.
