General Manager, SME

What you’ll be doing:

As the General Manager, SME you will own and manage the small and medium enterprise (SME) strategy and execution, to position Virgin Australia in the SME market for profitable revenue and market share growth.

The role is responsible for meeting Virgin Australia’s SME targets through enduring relationships and productive contracts within the SME market.

Some of your key priorities will include:

  • Develop, iterate and execute SME strategy, with the aim to increase Virgin Australia’s market share.
  • Design and manage cross functional initiatives to increase market share
  • Ensure all SME revenue streams are maximised
  • Identify revenue improvements and anticipate commercial or business opportunities. 
  • Manage external agencies and develop strategy to delivery commercial outcomes
  • Provide functional knowledge and expertise as required to ELT and senior leadership team on matters related to SME.
  • Define ambitious goals and establish priorities with clear responsibility to ensure results; manage projects, activities and resources effectively in order to deliver outcomes.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A proven commercial leader who is known for your inspiring leadership, your forward thinking and your ability to deliver.
  • Can strategically establish and implement initiatives in a way that delivers on business objectives
  • Has proven success in anticipating and interpreting market changes
  • Possess excellent communication skills demonstrated at Board/C-suite level, with the ability to distil, explain and demonstrate commercial outcomes
  • Have the proven ability to drive cultural change as part of a team
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated complex multi channel revenue leadership.
  • A strong ability to think strategically complemented by an ability to execute and provide detailed follow-up on the strategy.
  • Successful record of building relationships across multiple business areas and multiple levels. 
  • Ability to influence at senior levels and able to gain the support of the executive team regarding critical decisions
