Senior AEM Developer

About the role:

The objective of the Senior AEM Developer is to lead the development and implementation of new solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable code based on technical requirements.

Serving as a key point of contact for the Virgin Australia Airlines and Virgin Frequent Flyer teams, you’ll collaborate closely with the tech lead to maintain a customer-focused approach. You will also lead developers and mentor junior developers and actively engage with the broader department to uphold Virgin Australia’s vision, values, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

  • 3+ years’ experience with AEM implementations, OSGI, Apache Sling, Dispatcher configuration
  • DevOps tools experience
  • Excellent understanding of responsive design, browser behaviour, and compatibility
  • Extensive experience with Java 11, JUnit, Mockito, TDD
  • Experience of front-end technologies such as ReactJS, HTML5 & CSS3
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Mentoring/training other developers
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, specifically SCRUM

Desirable but not required:

  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Sites
  • AEM Developer Certification
  • Experience in airline or aviation technology environments
  • Proficiency working with Adobe Managed Services (AMS) and cloud-based platforms
  • Expertise in integrating rich JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) with HTML5 and CSS3
