As the Social Media Manager, you’ll be a strategic and results-focused leader, driving the development and execution of social media strategies that elevate brand engagement, deliver measurable ROI, and align with Velocity’s broader business objectives across all digital channels.
In addition, you will:
- Develop and execute data-driven social media strategies that align with Velocity’s business objectives and frequent flyer program goals.
- Create and curate high-quality, engaging content tailored to each social platform to drive member engagement and brand affinity.
- Manage and maintain content calendars to optimise posting schedules and campaign timing across channels.
- Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to produce visually engaging assets including graphics, video, and interactive content.
- Plan and deliver integrated social media campaigns to support partner launches, promotions, and product milestones.
- Oversee paid social media advertising budgets and optimise performance to maximise reach and return on investment.
- Establish and track key performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate content and campaign effectiveness.
- Analyse engagement, conversion, and audience data to provide actionable insights and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Stay ahead of social media trends, platform innovations, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for engagement.
- Collaborate closely with the community management team to ensure timely responses, manage sentiment, and strengthen member relationships.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- Proven experience in social media strategy, content creation, and performance marketing within a large B2C environment, ideally in aviation, travel, or loyalty.
- Strong understanding of frequent flyer programs, loyalty marketing principles, and customer engagement strategies.
- Skilled in social media analytics, reporting, and the use of tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and Instagram Insights to track ROI and optimise performance.
- Proficient in managing paid social media campaigns and budgets, with a track record of delivering conversion-focused results.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced copywriting ability and familiarity with SEO, accessibility, and content optimisation across digital platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of platform algorithms, digital trends, brand consistency, and social media compliance best practices.
