Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
What you’ll be doing:
As the Senior Analyst - Operations Transformation, you’ll be the subject matter expert driving data-led transformation programs that shape the future of our airline operations. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in analysing labour performance, and operational data to uncover and communicate insights, and identify opportunities to deliver efficiency, productivity and cost savings.
This position blends hands-on analysis with strategic program delivery, supporting Virgin Australia’s mission to build a more efficient, commercially focused, and engaged operation.
In addition you will:
- Partner with key stakeholders across Virgin’s Operations team (Cabin Crew, Flight Crew, Airports, Engineering & Maintenance, and internal teams) to deliver transformation initiatives that lift productivity and operational efficiency.
- Analyse workforce, productivity, financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement levers.
- Build and model scenarios that align labour supply with operational demand, supporting commercial and labour efficiency outcomes.
- Develop clear, insight-driven recommendations and prepare high-impact presentations that communicate findings to senior leaders.
- Support the design and delivery of transformation programs that improve performance, simplify processes, and enhance the frontline team experience.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and People teams to validate assumptions, quantify benefits, and track productivity improvements.
- Lead change and communication activities to ensure smooth implementation and adoption of new ways of working.
- Contribute to EA planning and help drive the broader transformation agenda.
- Monitor and report on program progress, highlighting risks, dependencies, and required interventions.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Bring 3 - 4 years’ experience in analytics, corporate finance, commercial analysis, management consulting, or a transformation-focused environment.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets and convert insights into practical, commercial recommendations.
- Are highly skilled at preparing clear, concise presentations that tell a compelling story and influence decision-making.
- Take ownership of a portfolio of transformation initiatives and drive them through to successful delivery.
- Conduct robust research and analysis using internal and external data sources to support evidence-based decision making.
- Confidently guide stakeholders and team members, where appropriate, through analysis and program delivery.
- Consistently deliver high-quality outputs supported by strong commercial reasoning and quantitative insights.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with senior stakeholders, providing structured materials and well-reasoned recommendations.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
