About the role

Join Alinta Energy as a Planning & Environment Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving our growth and decarbonisation strategy. This leadership position focuses on securing approvals for renewable and firming energy projects, particularly in Western Australia, while identifying risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for obtaining necessary approvals for major energy projects.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory stakeholders and external consultants to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
  • Conduct assessments to identify environmental and planning risks and opportunities during project feasibility.
  • Coordinate the Project Design Envelope process, ensuring alignment between technical design and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a specialised team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.

Your experience

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering).
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in managing approvals for major projects under relevant legislation.
  • Proven project development experience on infrastructure projects valued over $100 million.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Experience in managing interfaces between technical design and approval processes throughout project development.
