About the role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Project Commercial Studies and Analysis to lead our development project’s financing, analysis, procurement and delivery negotiation initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role involves overseeing financial modelling, business case analysis, managing government bids, and ensuring a cohesive contracting approach across multiple projects to enhance efficiency and streamlined operations.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise from an energy utility, a BIG4 or investment banking background, playing a pivotal role in shaping our procurement and negotiation practices and aligning Alinta's capabilities with government expectations and requirements.

What you'll do
- Lead all commercial and financial activities for power development and construction projects, including contracting and capital financing.
- Coordinate project financial modelling and manage commercial procurement, negotiating contracts with OEMs and BOP counterparties.
- Administer grant funding agreements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver against project development goals, managing feasibility studies and preparing reports on operating methods and business options.
- Develop and manage a team, promoting accountability and high performance.
Your experience
- A minimum of 15 years in project financing and infrastructure procurement, ideally from a energy utility, BIG4 or investment banking background.
- Substantial experience at a senior commercial level, with a proven track record in establishing and managing high-value contracts on infrastructure projects exceeding $500 million in value.
- Strong project development and delivery experience, particularly in renewable energy initiatives, with the ability to assess commercial opportunities in terms of costs, profits, markets, and added value.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- High communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
