Your next opportunity:  

Our Boral Asphalt team is currently seeking a proactive and skilled Fitter / Workshop Coordinator to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD 4350.

This role is ideal for a trade[1]qualified professional or individual with a strong mechanical expertise and/or knowledge who enjoys both hands-on maintenance and overseeing workshop operations. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fixed and mobile equipment, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Your day will involve:

  • Performing and coordinating maintenance on a diverse range of asphalt fixed and mobile equipment
  • Responding to and managing breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Identifying and resolving mechanical faults using engineering drawings and P&ID’s
  • Managing inventory, stock take, and workshop cleanliness
  • Scheduling and prioritising maintenance tasks effectively
  • Ensuring adherence to Boral's Workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Availability for flexible work schedules, including day, night, and Saturday shifts (penalty rates apply)

What are we looking for?

  • Mechanical Trade qualification
  • Sound mechanical knowledge, hydraulics, and auto electrical systems based on experience
  • Heavy vehicle licenses preferred - Car license minimum
  • Forklift / EWP licences are advantageous
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills
