Boral Cement is looking to appoint an experienced National Technical Manager. The key focus of this role is to provide strategic and operational product technical function for our Cement business, nationally.

**This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne**

Your day will involve:

  • Overseeing product specification, performance and development
  • Providing leadership to the Boral Cement technical team
  • Directing the Quality Management System, Quality Assurance Sampling, Testing and Reporting
  • Ensuring that Boral Cement’s technical capability is viewed as the highest in the industry and commercial marketplace
  • Represent Boral at industry events and in key customer interactions.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor Degree held in  either Manufacturing, Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical or Civil Engineering or Applied Science
  • Related post graduate qualifications
  • Min 10 years’ experience in clinker, cement, limestone and lime manufacture
  • Min 10 years’ experience in cement and concrete technology
  • Demonstrable knowledge of construction materials requirements ideally from a diverse range of cement and concrete applications and manufacturing methods
  • Proven track record in managing small teams ensuring a culture of high performance and productivity.

At Boral, we supply up to 4 million tonnes of cementitous products through our Berrima Clinker & Cement Manufacturing, Maldon Cement Grinding & Packaging, Marulan South Limestone Mine & Manufacturing, and Geelong Cement Grinding Operations. Boral Cement is working towards reducing carbon emissions by replacing 60% of fossil fuel in its manufacturing process with lower carbon alternative fuel. We have invested heavily in the development of Berrima’s alternative fuel project, to enable to the transition from coal to refuse derived fuels.
