The Business Applications Lead is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise business applications across Digital, Customer Experience, Finance, Procurement, and HR. Tasked with ensuring that applications are stable, secure, and performing optimally to meet the needs of the organisation, this role focuses on managing day-to-day support operations, vendor coordination, incident resolution, and system administration across the team of 8. This hands-on role is suited to an energetic and action-oriented individual who will provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to ensure timely incident resolution, effective service delivery, and operational excellence.

Your day will involve:

  • Leadership: provide effective line management and mentoring to the team including establishing clear performance objectives
  • Delivery of operational application support services - lead the day-to-day operational support of business applications, ensuring system uptime, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Triage and manage application incidents, service requests, and enhancements through established ITSM and Agile prioritization processes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal support teams to resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Application administration & maintenance - oversee routine application maintenance, configuration updates, and patch management ensuring application security
  • Manage user access, permissions, and role-based controls across supported platforms.
  • Service delivery and continuous Improvement - monitor application performance and usage metrics to identify and implement improvements.
  • Drive root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implements preventative measures.
  • Vendor and stakeholder management - ensure vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations and internal expectations.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure system reliability.
  • Change & release management - plan and coordinate application changes, upgrades, and releases with minimal business disruption.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a Business/IT Applications Team with strong influencing skills
  • Prior exposure to Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar ERPs (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain), SAP Concur, Salesforce CRM (Service, Sales, Revenue, Data, Voice Clouds), PageUp, Frontier Chris21.
  • Experience in Public Cloud (AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Demonstrable experience of building trust with customers and seeking out firsthand customer experience information and using that knowledge to drive improvements
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and frameworks (certification desirable).
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
