A new opportunity has arisen for an Integration Engineer to join the Business Applications team at Boral. The Integration Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of integration and automation solutions across the organisation’s enterprise application landscape. This includes the use of modern integration technologies such as iPaaS platforms, RPA tools, ETL solutions, and API frameworks. This hands-on role has a strong operational focus, ensuring integration services are stable, secure, well-governed, and continuously improved. The Integration Engineer plays a key role in enabling seamless data exchange between systems and in driving digital process automation through APIs and RPA.

This is a key role in our team and a strong focus will be placed on operational excellence, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of integration services. Successful candidates will have strong operational management skills, team leadership, and a deep understanding of enterprise systems.

Your day will involve:

  • Lead the day-to-day operational support of integration services, ensuring system uptime, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Triage and manage integration incidents, service requests, and enhancements through established ITSM and Agile prioritisation processes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal support teams to resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Oversee routine maintenance, configuration updates, and patch management.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and role-based controls across supported platforms.
  • Monitor application performance and usage metrics to identify and implement improvements.
  • Drive root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implements preventative measures.
  • Maintain knowledge base, system documentation, and user support materials.
  • Serve as the point of contact for third-party vendors providing support and maintenance services, ensuring  vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure system reliability.
  • Plan and coordinate application changes, upgrades, and releases with minimal business disruption.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise integration applications and designing, developing and deploying integrations using modern integration tools such as PaaS platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, AWS Application Integration services), RPA tools (UIPath, MS Power Automate), ETL solutions, and API frameworks.
  • Exposure to developing, documenting, and managing RESTful APIs and web services for secure and scalable data exchange across systems.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and frameworks (certification desirable).
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Experience in enterprise environments with ERP, CRM, or HR systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
