  • This is a Parental Leave relief role and it is anticipated appointment will be until January 2026.
  • $123,568pa + 12% super
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 8 of EBA5
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Caboolture

About our opportunity

The Strategic Planning and Place Making Department takes a strategic approach to long term planning and policy development to shape the growth, urban form, accessibility, and liveability of our region whilst managing natural hazards and protecting and conserving our natural resources, environment, and heritage. The department’s plans, programs and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.

This role will be focused on program and project management delivery for the new planning scheme, and support broader departmental portfolio, program and project planning.

In particular, the successful candidate will:

  • support program and project management delivery of the new planning scheme
  • develop and update detailed project management plans, utilising appropriate tools and communication methods; and build relationships across the organisation to support program delivery
  • coordinate project management activities, identify and manage project risks, and provide regular performance and progress reporting.

About You

You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in program and project management practices which have seen the successful delivery of large and complex projects on time and budget, and ideally those relating to strategic land use / infrastructure planning. Hold a Tertiary qualification in project management or related, or an urban planning degree.

You can prepare detailed project management plans that account for interdependent project components, capturing the necessary elements for streamlined project delivery and ability to build rapport with project stakeholders and confidently engage on project management planning aspects. You will also enjoy being a part of a positive and collaborative team environment to achieve quality outcomes for our communities.
