Join City of Moreton Bay in this key leadership role, and help drive an efficient financial services function that supports our council to shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
Leading a team of 30+ you will be responsible for the effective delivery of the following integral financial functions:
- Financial Modelling
- Rating and Property
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Payroll
We will look to you to foster teamwork, innovation and excellence by driving a work environment that encourages participation and a “One Council” approach to delivering services to our communities. You'll also:
- Undertake complex financial modelling to inform Council decisions and strategic direction with regard to financial sustainability.
- Develop and administer financial models for the revenue-side of Council’s budget and forecasts, inclusive of estimating growth in the rateable properties of Council, separate charges, utility charges and the impact of changes to the value of each property.
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Financial Operations policies and processes, with particular emphasis on improving customer experience and automating routine processes where appropriate.

About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience in delivering financial functions within a similar organisation in size and complexity, ideally Local Government.
- Experience in financial modelling and presentation of financial data to provide insights into key decision making processes.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, with a track record in managing and growing the capability of a team.
- Ability to think outside the box and drive process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Analytical and outcome focused approach, with the ability to manage competing demands in a complex environment.
- Open and transparent communication style, including the ability to gain trust and elicit support from others.
