Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Electrical Engineer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
This is a new role to council so you will have the opportunity to make it your own. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing electrical engineering projects.
As our Principal Electrical Engineer you provide expert engineering assessment and advice on planning, implementing and operating Council’s electrical and intelligent transport network to ensure it is well planned and operates safely both now and into the future to meet the needs of the community.
You will have the opportunity to;
- provide expert technical advice as it relates to Electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) based on contemporary best practice transport design principles, relevant standards, guidelines and Council policies that is context sensitive and consistent
- contribute to technical input into the annual capital and operational works programs and assist in their review and update
- prepare and review detailed design briefs for both internal and external design services and ensure that design projects are delivered on time, within budget and are aligned to strategy.

About you
Are you ready for an adventure in one of Australia's most dynamic and rapidly growing regions?
We are seeking an expert in the planning and design of electrical (street lighting) and ITS projects. You will have experience in electrical street lighting and ITS engineering design development and review, quality management, value engineering and approval (as RPEQ).
Bringing knowledge of contemporary best practice electrical and ITS design principles and relevant standards.
You will have:
- comprehensive experience in the management and coordination of electrical and ITS engineering design projects
- excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to understand and communicate with a wide variety of people with diverse and sometimes non-technical backgrounds
You will hold Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia and be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or ability to obtain within first 12 months of employment.
