We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated University Student to work in our Emergency Management & Public Safety team!
Working alongside professionals in this field, you will gain some great knowledge in the area of your studies as you assist the team in the development of deployment plans and safety assessment for portable CCTV units and relocation of poles. You'll also be involved with:
- Processing and tracking requests for footage and access to Council's CCTV system in accordance with Information Privacy Principles.
- Engaging proactively with key stakeholders including government agencies, community sector organisations, internal business units and networks to identify needs and develop collaborative strategies in response to community public safety concerns.
- Processing budget-related transactions, including requisitioning purchase orders, receiving goods/services, creating expense reports, undertaking transaction enquiries, analysing outstanding purchase orders and invoices, error identification and recommending remedial actions, as well as preparing direct payments and invoice requests.
- Undertaking minor project activities including updating and maintaining of project registers and schedules.
- Conducting and preparing security risk assessments and public safety action plans.
- Supporting remoted pilot aircraft operations.
- Fulfilling duties in Council's Local Disaster Coordination Centre and On Call arrangements as required.
Your enthusiasm and drive will be paired with exceptional customer service skills as we strive to provide a great experience for all of our stakeholders we interact with. You will also be eager to contribute to a positive team environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will be currently enrolled in relevant university studies ideally with a Criminology or Justice focus, and be available to work a minimum of 21.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
