  • 72.5 hour fortnight

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Senior Business Support Officer and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

The Environment and Sustainability Policy and Planning Department sits within the Planning Directorate and takes a lead role in developing the strategic environmental and sustainability policies, programs and systems to ensure sustainability of our operations and natural environment. The team is split into three work areas: Natural Hazards Planning, Biodiversity Planning and Sustainability Planning.

Reporting directly to the Manager this position will provide high level administrative and business support to the Manager and senior team members across the three Department work areas to support achievement of departmental objectives and outcomes.

Additionally, you will

  • draft high level correspondence, reports and documents
  • monitor, process and track incoming and outgoing councillor and other correspondence
  • coordinate the Manager’s electronic diary
  • research and investigate issues and enquiries from stakeholders, staff, and residents to support appropriate responses and information
  • coordinate and prepare for internal and external meetings
  • assist with tracking of council meetings, briefing sessions, ELT meetings and Mayoral requests

About you

We are seeking an experienced professional with highly developed interpersonal, time management, work prioritisation and organisational skills that is eager to contribute positively to our team of technical specialists and its work to support our healthy environments.

You will have experience providing administrative and business support at a senior level, be proactive and have a self-motivated nature.

This role requires your professional judgement, initiative and confidentiality, with strong attention to detail and confidence in preparing quality correspondence, utilising the Microsoft Suite and the technical aptitude to quickly learn our Council systems and processes. 

With well-developed people and relationship skills and a strong focus on providing quality customer service, you will quickly become a valued member of our team.
