The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
  • $67,642 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 3)
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Burpengary - please note, this position will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months

As one of our Trash Racks team members working more broadly within the Roads and Drains team, you will execute assigned maintenance tasks on Council's end of line storm water treatment devices and drainage infrasturucture.

More specifically, this position will have you performing a variety of general labouring and operating duties including:

  • using hand tools and other equipment as necessary to clear rubbish and debris from end of line devices
  • operation of the excavator (where licences and training permit) 
  • maintaining other infrastructure and areas as needed

Your hands on involvement will be crucial in maintaining the safety and functionality of our community's infrastructure.

About you

Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Ideally you will have demonstrated recent hands on experience in a similar position undertaking maintenance involving drainage assets with some experience leading people previously. We'll definitely need you to bring your strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, proven ability to perform manual tasks in safety oriented environments, proficiency with relevant technology and capability to handle basic administrative duties. 

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold:

  • a current truck licence (minimum heavy rigid - HR) 
  • a Construction Induction card (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement)
