Join City of Moreton Bay in this key leadership role, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow!
Reporting directly to our General Manager, Community and Environmental Services, you’ll lead a dedicated team of 140+ professionals, driving initiatives across:
- Sport and Recreation – focusing on: building capacity and resilience of community organisations to deliver inclusive, high-quality community, sport and recreation activities; and management of Council’s ever-popular Healthy and Active Moreton and Active Holidays programs which provide affordable activities aimed at enhancing the physical and mental wellbeing of our communities.
- Community Planning & Development – focusing on: leading a suite of specialist community development and inclusion portfolios, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse peoples, young people and people experiencing homelessness; social policy and strategy development; and community grants and sponsorships management.
- Community Facilities Operations – focusing on: the management of Council’s extensive network of 46 community halls, and the administration and governance of over 500 land tenure agreements with local community organisations.
- Community Facilities Planning – focusing on: future planning for a comprehensive network of community facilities that meet the needs of our growing community; providing expert advice and technical services regarding disability access and inclusion matters; and provision of specialised advice and technical services regarding the management of cultural heritage assets across the city.
- Recreation Venues – focusing on: the contract management and optimisation of Council network of 14 aquatic facilities; as well as the direct management of key recreation venues / services such as the Queensland State Equestrian Centre, Morayfield Sports and Events Centre and Redcliffe Entertainment Centre.
This is an exciting time to join our team to drive the strategic direction of City of Moreton Bay. This role is integral to delivering major initiatives, including many of those detailed in Council’s Community Wellbeing Strategy 2042, Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and Housing and Homelessness Action Plan.
At the heart of our reconciliation journey, we envision a city where the histories and cultures of Traditional Custodians are celebrated as an irreplaceable foundation of our collective identity. As the driving force behind the implementation of 70 RAP actions, endorsed in November 2023, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure successful implementation. Your leadership will help embed reconciliation into our everyday practices, strengthening relationships and fostering a more inclusive city.
