Join City of Moreton Bay as an Accounts Receivable and Collections Officer and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As an Accounts Receivable and Collections Officer, you will be responsible for engaging with customers to resolve outstanding debts through professional and empathetic communication. You will support legal and administrative processes related to debt recovery, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts receivable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer interactions regarding overdue accounts, including negotiating and monitoring repayment arrangements.
- Prepare and lodge documentation for legal proceedings and Sale of Land actions.
- Provide advice and support to internal teams on debt collection matters.
- Review and process sundry debt invoices, reminders, and statements.
- Administer direct debit arrangements and third-party payment receipting.
- Investigate payment discrepancies and process refunds and transfers.
About you
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounts receivable and debt recovery. You bring a customer-focused approach to resolving financial matters and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
You will have:
- Proven experience in debt collection and accounts receivable, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve sensitive issues professionally.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute positively to team culture and customer service excellence.
