The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $129,747 pa + 12% super (level 8) - with a 4.5% increase coming 1 July
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Location: Brendale + onsite visits to all venues

Join City of Moreton Bay as the Heritage and Museums Coordinator, and play a key role in shaping how our community connects with its rich history, culture and stories. 

This leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic direction and delivery of Museum and Heritage services, ensuring they are contemporary, engaging and aligned with community expectations. You will lead high-performing teams across museums and heritage, bringing together people, programs and places to deliver meaningful cultural experiences and long-term community value.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership to the Museum teams to deliver dynamic venues, exhibitions and programs that enhance visitor engagement
  • Manage staffing resources, collections, budgets and facilities to ensure effective service delivery
  • Guide the Heritage team to deliver integrated services and programs, including Local Studies, across our Museums and Libraries
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve optimal services
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement and accountability

Please note, this role is required to participate in Council's 'After Hours On-Call' arrangements. 

About you

You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a strong background in Museum and Heritage services, bringing both vision and operational expertise to the role. You’re passionate about delivering meaningful cultural outcomes for the community and have a proven ability to lead complex services, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement through people, projects and partnerships.
 
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Substantial knowledge of and experience in the strategic direction and operations of Cultural Services
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing strategy, policy and budgets, including projects and facilities, in line with financial and legislative requirements
  • Highly developed relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, advocate and build support for Museums and Heritage across the region
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams within complex service and technical environments

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Arts, Culture and Heritage Studies, or substantial relevant experience
  • A current C class driver’s licence
