The UWA Data Institute (UWA DI) leverages UWA’s expertise in data-driven research and innovation to facilitate research collaboration between academia, industry, government, and the community. It is a gateway into data science and artificial intelligence research at UWA, an enabler of strategic cross-disciplinary research and a provider of significant quality engagement opportunities across UWA, industry and the community.
We are looking to expand our team with a part-time (0.6 FTE) Communications Officer who will strategically position and implement our communication activities, help deliver events and assist in the general running of the Institute.
About the opportunity
- You will plan, implement, coordinate, and assess communication activities to support the Institute’s strategic goals.
- Work across social media, web content, marketing, and events, liaising with a broad network of stakeholders including internal teams, Advisory Board members, sponsors, and external partners.
- Create and publish engaging and relevant social media and web content to increase engagement and enhance digital presence. Track, analyse and report on social media and website performance metrics and provide insights for improvement.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant experience in communications, social media, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in event planning and coordination, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate communications strategies.
- Proficiency in graphic design, multimedia content creation, social media management, and web content management (including WordPress and Elementor).
- Proficiency in social media management and website content creation.
