  • Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
  • Base salary range: Level D, $166,851 – $183,563 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides high quality and innovative teaching to medical students throughout the course in collaboration with the wider medical profession. Pathology teaching at UWA emphasises understanding of a wide range of disease processes and their relationship between normal structure and function, as well as their clinical relevance. Teaching methods used in the current course include face to face and online delivery of small and large group teaching, with the intention of increasingly utilising blended models of learning in the future.

About the opportunity

  • Undertake independent teaching and research making an outstanding contribution to teaching and learning in the area of Anatomical Pathology.
  • Teaching and assessment of students within the MD program, as well as being responsible for coordinating part of the delivery of the pathology component of the MD program.
  • Collaborate and engage with pathologists in the public and private pathology sectors and other academic staff.

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline
  • Demonstrated track record of sustained excellence in leading the development and delivery of curricula and in the development of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses  
  • Demonstrable experience of leading public engagement activities that promote research leadership and/or education outcomes, government and industry 
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles
