- Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia (UWA), established in 2009. With headquarters at UWA and research nodes at both universities, ICRAR is one of Australia’s premier astronomy institutions and a key partner in the international SKA project. ICRAR has received $65 million in funding from the WA State Government for 2025–2030, supporting its mission to lead in data-intensive astronomy.
About the opportunity
- Develop and enhance web applications that support astronomical research and data analysis.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers on high-impact projects involving petabyte-scale datasets.
- Contribute to UI/UX design, API development, and technical documentation for scientific software.
About you
- You hold a relevant degree or have substantial experience in web application development.
- You’re skilled across the full web stack, including TypeScript/JavaScript, CSS, Python and modern frameworks.
- You have experience integrating applications with RESTful services and deploying secure, scalable web systems.
- You’re a clear communicator with strong documentation and user support capabilities.
- You thrive working independently and collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
