  • Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for two years.
  • Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809 / Level D, $173,024 - $190,355 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The International Space Centre (ISC) at The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a new dynamic institute that aims to seize opportunities for knowledge transfer, technology development, impactful research and education in the space sector. The ISC is a virtual organisation with various research groups distributed across UWA.

The position will be fulfilled from the candidate’s current location and from a hot desk near the ISC’s executive base at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) located on the main UWA campus by the Matilda Bay.

About the opportunity

  • Serve on the ISC Executive, providing leadership and oversight to ISC Node activities involving UWA researchers, students, and educators.
  • Support the ISC’s mission to grow UWA’s multidisciplinary space capability across diverse fields including humanities, sciences, and engineering.
  • Part-time role suited to a current UWA-based active researcher in any relevant discipline.

About you

  • Degree qualification, at PhD level, in any field.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and publishing space-related research.
  • Record of successful research grants.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with academic researchers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and high-level consultation skills.
