About the area

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations) (DVCO) leads UWA’s operational and transformation agenda, bringing together key enabling functions to support the University’s academic and research mission. The portfolio drives service excellence, sustainability, and innovation through strategic operations, digital enablement, and organisational improvement.

Within this portfolio, the University Transformation and Improvement team delivers major change and improvement initiatives, provides commercial and business analysis to inform decision-making, and ensures UWA adopts new operating models and technologies that enhance staff and student experiences.

About the opportunity

  • Lead major strategic and transformational initiatives that position the University for long-term success.
  • Develop and implement transformative strategies, frameworks, and operating models that enhance institutional capability, sustainability, and competitiveness.
  • Champion cultural change initiatives that build trust, accountability, and collaboration across the University.

About you

  • Demonstrated track record in leading major transformation and change programs within a complex organisation, preferably in higher education or a comparable sector.
  • Substantial experience in strategy development, portfolio planning, and delivery of enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI and digital technologies to transform processes, services, and user experience.
  • Proven capability to design and lead change initiatives that improve trust, engagement, and accountability.
  • Strong project and portfolio management expertise, with the ability to oversee multiple, complex initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.

Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required by the successful applicant.
