About the area
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Strategic Initiatives) Portfolio supports UWA's strategic direction and institutional performance through enterprise-wide strategy, planning, performance oversight and governance of major strategic programs and initiatives. The Portfolio provides the frameworks, analysis and assurance that guide academic strategy, financial sustainability, capital investment and organisational capability in support of the UWA Strategy.
About the opportunity
- Lead high-level strategic, commercial and operational analysis, including business cases, financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis and performance insights that inform executive decision-making, resource allocation and investment priorities.
- Provide trusted, evidence-based advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and senior leaders, translating complex financial, business and organisational information into clear recommendations, strategic options and executive-level presentations.
- Lead cross-functional analytical initiatives supporting organisational performance, transformation and growth, while providing leadership to professional, technical and administrative staff and building a high-performing team culture.
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification with more than 10 years' experience in financial performance management or a related discipline, together with full professional membership of a recognised Australian or international accounting body.
- Substantial experience in strategic planning, financial and commercial analysis, forecasting, scenario modelling and the development of strategic business cases.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial, business and data analysis into practical, evidence-based insights and recommendations that support senior-level decision-making.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience identifying opportunities, addressing complex issues and developing innovative solutions that improve organisational performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality specialist advice and manage competing priorities.
