About the area
The Risk, Integrity, Safety and Compliance (RISC) division supports UWA’s commitment to a high-performance, risk-aware culture. RISC delivers best-practice frameworks for enterprise risk, compliance, integrity, safety and information governance, and plays a key role in upholding institutional excellence.
The newly established Compliance team, embedded within RISC, will take a structured, coordinated approach to compliance management, ensuring accountability across all faculties and divisions. The team’s work will help ensure that UWA’s operations and activities are compliant with all significant legal and regulatory obligations to help enable delivery of the University’s strategic goals.
About the opportunity
- Lead the design, delivery and oversight of a university -wide compliance framework.
- Monitor emerging regulatory changes, advise senior leadership on effective compliance management and deliver reports to governance committees on performance.
- Manage a team of Compliance Officers and partner with embedded risk and compliance champions across UWA.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in law, governance, business or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in compliance systems and assurance in complex organisations, ideally higher education.
- Proven ability to lead teams, engage stakeholders and manage regulatory and legislative obligations.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and embed a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
