  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until 10th April 2026.
  • Base salary range: $80,243 – $88,940 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Division of Student Life sits within the UWA Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Education. Together with the Division of Student Accommodation and Community, Student Life plays an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience. The Division has four core functions, Student Administration, Student Offices, Student Equity and Success, and Student Wellbeing and Engagement. The scope of services centre on the student journey, from the provision of student programs and activities that support and promote access to UWA, to student enrolment, course planning, transition, and progression through the lifecycle of study to graduation. The Division is also responsible for the delivery of services that promote academic success and support wellbeing and engagement for an enhanced student experience. Student Life works closely with the Student Guild, affiliated residential colleges and the wider UWA Education portfolio. A key function within Student Offices is the International Student Support team, which provides resources and support for international students, including orientation and transition programs, student engagement programs, and ongoing assistance throughout their studies. These services collectively aim to ensure that international students have a positive and enriching experience while studying in Perth and UWA.

About the opportunity

  • You will, under general direction, provide support services for new and current international students in line with the University and the Australian government’s legislative framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide a high level of administrative support to the area, including for student-facing events.
  • You will be required to use your expertise and judgment to provide high-quality support and advice to students.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Demonstrated organisational and administration skills, with a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Experience in coordinating events for international students of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, interpretation and application of policies and regulations related to international education, Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) National Code and broad knowledge of Australian educational systems and frameworks, and government policies.

  • Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
