About the area
The Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) is UWA’s intensive English language provider and comprises thriving tuition.
Whilst CELT is within the office of the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) the specialist nature of its business means that it has a degree of autonomy in decision making, including the flexibility to take advantage of market developments to remain competitive and financially self-sufficient.
Within this context, CELT works to enhance recognition of UWA internationally by providing high quality intensive English language programs and allied services. CELT’s reputation for quality and integrity and its culture of supporting students and enhancing their Australian experience is pivotal to its ability to develop and maintain relationships with education agents, education institutions, peak bodies and corporations nationally and internationally.
CELT offers a range of accredited intensive English language courses, including a direct entry pathway to tertiary studies at UWA. CELT has a thriving business in designing and delivering customised programs, many with an English for Special Purposes focus.
CELT also provides specialist consultancy services and delivers the University’s credit-bearing English language and academic communication units.
