- 2 part-time (0.6 FTE) appointments on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
- Base salary range: $80,243 – $88,940 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Centre for English Language Teaching (UWA CELT) works to enhance recognition of UWA internationally by providing high quality intensive English language programs and allied services. It contributes to UWA’s priorities and operations through its expertise in the teaching, learning and testing of the English language and through its international promotional activities. UWA CELT is a part of the office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) and has a key role in supporting and furthering the University’s international strategies.
About the opportunity
- You will play a crucial part in CELT’s provision of support services for its students.
- Your main role is to advise and support CELT students to deal with personal problems, social and welfare challenges during their studies.
- You will be responsible for alerting CELT Management to potentially problematic situations with regard to the Centre’s students.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level.
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice and support for people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
- An understanding of University requirements of international students.
Note: There are 2 job share positions. Working days are Monday to Thursday and Tuesday to Friday 8am to 2pm, except on Wednesday it is 8am to 2.30pm.
