About the area

The Dobney Hypertension Centre (DHC) is a collaborative initiative between the RPH Research Foundation, The University of Western Australia, and Royal Perth Hospital.

As a tertiary referral centre, the DHC manages all aspects of clinical hypertension, with a particular focus on difficult to control, secondary, and resistant hypertension.

At the DHC, you’ll join a truly multidisciplinary team of experts in nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, radiology, and biochemistry all working together to provide world class care and achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

About the opportunity

  • Manage a busy outpatient Hypertension Clinic, integrating clinical research into patient cardiometabolic care and providing expert nursing support
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of innovative clinical trials and cohort studies across both community and hospital settings
  • Play a vital role in ensuring high-quality research by accurately managing study data and specimens,

About you

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of four years’ hands on clinical experience.
  • Solid clinical knowledge and confidence in delivering evidence-based care in a busy outpatient clinic setting.
  • Experience working within clinical trials / research, ideally in cardiovascular, kidney, or metabolic health.
  • Experience with systems such as REDCap or hospital databases.
  • Ability to perform routine and complex clinical trial procedures in accordance with research protocols e.g. venepuncture, clinical assessments, laboratory sample collection and processing, assistance with cardiovascular and neurovascular research techniques, such as microneurography, noradrenaline spillover, assessment of pulse wave velocity, ankle brachial index, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and patient education.
