  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 18 months.
  • Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Office of Research is responsible for formulating and providing policy advice, and for developing and implementing procedures to effectively coordinate and administer externally and internally funded research. Within the Office of Research, the Research Operations Division is responsible for securing and administering research grants, industry sponsored research, and research fellowships, and the Post-Award Team supports the successful delivery of funded research by providing practical advice on contracts, funding management and compliance, including coordination of reporting, milestones and project lifecycle requirements.

About the opportunity

  • support the post-award administration of internally and externally funded research grants;
  • prepare template-based research collaboration and related agreements, escalating more complex matters as appropriate; and
  • provide clear, practical advice to researchers and colleagues on grant administration, funding conditions and related processes. 

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant senior administrative experience in research grants at an appropriate level.
  • Ability to prepare and review contracts and provide input into less complex contracts.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex administrative and compliance matters clearly to non-specialist audiences. Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
