- Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases (NCARD) is an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence within the University of Western Australia’s Centre for Respiratory Health. NCARD conducts interdisciplinary research focused on understanding the pathogenesis of asbestos-related diseases, with an emphasis on cancer immunology, biomarker discovery, and therapeutic development. Research activities span basic science, translational research, and clinical trials, and involve collaborations with national and international partners across academia, healthcare, and industry
About the opportunity
- Support NCARD’s research in tumour biology and immunology.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team that includes immunologists, oncologists, clinicians, and computational scientists
- Contribute to the analysis of large-scale genomics datasets and the development of reproducible analytical workflows that support cutting-edge cancer research.
About you
- A PhD in applied genomics, bioinformatics or computational biology, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Demonstrated experience in genome and transcriptome analysis
- Proficiency with command-line tools and scripting in Linux-based environments
- Proven ability to contribute to scientific manuscripts and research outputs
