Regional HR Generalist - fixed term contract until December end 2026

Location: Coryton or Canvey Island (Hybrid Working)

Up to £45,000 (pro-rata'd) dependent on experience

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Regional HR Generalist to join our People Experience team on a fixed-term contract until 31st  December 2026.

Based at either our Coryton or Canvey Island site, you'll support multiple locations across the South East and outskirts of London, partnering with managers and leaders to deliver expert HR guidance and practical people solutions. This role is particularly suited to a HR professional with strong Employee Relations expertise who enjoys managing complex casework while influencing and coaching stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

This is a regional hybrid role, with around two to three days spent on-site and the remainder working remotely.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the HR team, you will take the lead on a broad range of employee relations matters, providing end-to-end support on complex and sensitive cases. You'll work closely with managers to build capability, ensure legal compliance, and drive a fair, consistent, and positive employee experience across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage employee relations cases from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability, performance, and investigation processes.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on employment law, HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations, preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Partner with managers to resolve people challenges effectively, balancing business needs with employee wellbeing and risk management.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-risk employee relations matters where appropriate.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and wider HR projects across the region.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee relations records and documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders to drive engagement, consistency, and positive people outcomes.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in a HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or similar HR role with significant Employee Relations responsibility.
  • Proven track record of independently managing a high-volume and varied ER caseload from initial issue through to resolution.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law and confidence applying it across a range of complex employee situations.
  • Experience advising, influencing, and coaching managers at all levels on employee relations matters.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Workday, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD accreditation.
  • Experience within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, customer service, or operational environments.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or regional business operations.

Why Join Us?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive HR team where you'll have genuine influence, autonomy, and exposure to a broad range of people challenges. If you're passionate about employee relations and enjoy partnering with leaders to deliver practical, people-focused solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
