At Calor, we’re looking for a Graduate Data Scientist to join our growing Innovation & Transformation team. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your technical skills into action in a supportive environment where learning, experimentation, and innovation are valued every day.

About the Role

As a Graduate Data Scientist, you’ll play a key role in driving innovation across the business through advanced analytics. You’ll work with experienced data professionals and cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable insights that support operational improvements and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis on large, complex datasets to identify trends and insights.
  • Develop, test, and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to understand their data challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
  • Present insights and model outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge of data science tools, techniques, and technologies.

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong analytical thinking, solid technical skills, and the ambition to learn and grow.

Essential:

  • Degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar).
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and model development.
  • Experience handling large datasets, including cleaning and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for learning and collaborating in a dynamic team environment.

 

Desirable:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with data engineering and ETL processes.
  • Interest in AI or deep learning technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Awareness of operational safety and process efficiency (advantageous but not essential).
