The Production team at Calor Gas are looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Shift Lead.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ensure safety is always the number one priority on shift, demonstrating clear visible felt leadership on site
Responsible for empowering and guiding Shift Supervisors and their teams to meet the shift production targets
Responsible for ensuring the allocation of resource across the range of production activities is organised and in place to meet shift targets
Responsible for dealing with people issues and acting in a way which drives people performance with an emphasis on continuous improvement
Delivers the shift production plan and responsible for recording and communication of shift production levels and efficiencies
Ensures accurate weekly cylinder stock counts are triggered, completed on time and any variances are investigated thoroughly
Responsible for the induction, training and competency sign off all operatives on your shift using the supervisors to achieve this. Ensure the competency matrix is kept up to date and skill gaps in your team addressed
Accountable for ensuring sickness and absence levels are monitored for your shift and early interventions undertaken as required
Responsible for ensuring the shift team have up to date health surveillance screening and HGV medicals where required
Take a leading role within the incident management team (Site Incident Controller / Site Main Controller) and the deployment of the Plant Emergency Response Procedures
Deal with problems as they occur during the shift and contribute to driving continuous improvement across activities
Required to stand in for the Production Manager as required and is comfortable handling situations without direct management.
As such we would like you to have/be:
Essential that the role holder has a full understanding of process and occupational safety and sets the priority as such on shift
Must hold a safety qualification or be prepared to obtain (IOSH / NEBOSH) certificate
It’s essential that the role holder has proven leadership and people skills with experience in a production-based environment (3 years)
Experience of working in hazardous areas or COMAH sites is highly desirable
Must be experienced in delivering results through Teams by effective leadership
An understanding of process optimization and continuous improvement
Ability to create, develop and follow technical procedures
Experience of working with SAP is desirable
Works well under pressure and resilient
Delivering effective development training
Working knowledge of Risk Assessment, COSHH, Permit to Work, Work Instructions & Incident Investigation
Strong performance orientation
Able to react effectively to emerging issues and take action to remain on track to meet objectives
Well organised
Clear communicator
