About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and self-motivated staff experienced in food services to bring joy to our resident’s day. As a Food Services Assistant your focus will be to deliver catering needs that meet nutritional and hydration needs, special requirements and preferences of our residents.
We welcome staff from different industry with food services experience to join VMCH.
Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team, your focus will be:
- Perform basic food preparation tasks and cooking basic meals.
- Prepare, present and serve / deliver food and refreshments, ensuring awareness of special needs for modified diets
- Plate and present food in an appealing manner and to a high-quality visual standard according to individual requirements
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have below qualities:
- Food Safety Certificate Level I (HLTFSE001) or progression towards the completion of a Food Safety Certificate
- Previous experience working in a food services environment and/or at an aged care facility
- Patience; common sense and a strong ethos of client service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team and to work with minimum supervision
The successful incumbent will need to be available to work across the below days and shifts :
Week 1: Tuesday : 0700-1445 , Friday : 0715-1400, Saturday: 0700-1445, Sunday : 0715-1400
Week 2 : Saturday: 0715-1400, Sunday : 0700-1445
